CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Richmond got to within a one-goal deficit twice, but fell to No. 10 Virginia, 12-9 Wednesday.
"This game was a battle - from the opening whistle to the closing one," said Assistant Coach Crista Samaras. "Our kids put the kind of effort into the little things that is required at this level. The win may have eluded us, but the energy, effort and willingness it takes to win did not. This team is chipping away at a whole new level of play. Today was a good day. We look forward to great ones."
