
Field Hockey Rolls Past Lock Haven, 2-1

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Richmond field hockey team rolled past the Lock Haven Bald Eagles, 2-1, in Atlantic 10 action Sunday afternoon at Charlotte Smith Field. Chelsea Davies and Taylor Deitrick found the back of the cage for the Spiders.
With the win, Richmond improved to 11-6 overall and 4-1 in the league, while Lock Haven fell to 13-5 on the season and 3-2 in the A-10.
The Spiders dominated play from start to finish, as they outshot the Bald Eagles 17-3 and took a 7-2 corner advantage. Amy Cook and Davies led the way with four shots each.
Davies made it a 1-0 ball game when Richmond was rewarded with a penalty stroke at the 44:44 mark. Richmond later took the 2-0 lead in the 61st minute when Kelly Quinn set up Deitrick in the circle.
Lock Haven slipped one through at the 61:53 mark on its second shot of the game.
Anna Zarkoski recorded all 70 minutes between the post as she was only threatened with two shots on frame.
The Spiders will return home Friday, Nov. 1 when they host conference foe La Salle at 3:30 p.m.
