
Richmond Takes Down In-State Rival ODU, 67-58

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Cedrick Linday scored all of his team-high 19 points in the second half and Alonzo Nelson-Ododa had his first career double-double as Richmond defeated Old Dominion 67-58 Saturday night at the Robins Center.
Lindsay added seven assists and three rebounds to go with his 19 second-half points as Richmond improved to 9-4 and won for the 43rd time in the last 50 non-conference home games.
Junior Kendall Anthony scored 10 of his 17 in the first half to score in double-figures for the fifth-straight game.
Nelson-Ododa scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds as he posted the first double-double of his career. He also blocked two shots, tying Steve Kratzer for ninth on Richmond's career list for blocks with 91. Nelson-Ododa has needed just 47 games to crack the top-10, while the other nine players on the all-time list for blocks at Richmond needed at least 100 games.
Trailing 25-24 at halftime, Richmond used a 9-0 run to take a lead from Old Dominion that it would not reliniquish. The Spiders' defense was again outstanding, forcing 17 ODU turnovers and swiping eight steals.
Richmond hits the road on Wednesday to begin a four-game road trip at Northeastern. Tip-off on New Year's Eve in Boston in scheduled for 2 p.m.
