
Spiders Stopped At GW In A-10 Opener

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Richmond was edged by George Washington, 11-10, in its A-10 opener Friday in Washington, D.C.
The Spiders' five-game win streak over the Colonials was snapped, as they dropped their first game to GW since 2008.
Richmond (3-8) tied the game at 10-all with 4:32 remaining, but GW (6-4) picked up a ground ball off a turnover and scored with 1:52 left to take the win. Richmond outscored GW 4-2 in the game's last 18 minutes.
The Spiders were led by Caitlin Fifield's four goals, while Kara Moschetti followed with two goals. Sam Stevenson dished a team-high three assists.
Freshman Catherine McTiernan picked up a team-high four ground balls, while Bailey Zerr secured two draw controls. Emily Boyce had nine saves in goal.
Richmond returns to action at No. 16 Massachusetts Friday, Apr. 5 at 4 p.m.
