UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team begins the 2014 season at the North Florida Tournament on February 14. Leading up the Opening Day, RichmondSpiders.com will introduce Spider fans to all 30 Richmond players with the “Meet the Spiders” series.

RS.com: Why did you choose Richmond?
Eric Flanagan: I liked how it was much warmer then where I am from in the northeast. I fell in love with the campus when I visited and it is a great academic school.
RS: Three words that describe you best…
EF: Relaxed, confident, entertaining
RS: Favorite MLB team?
EF: New York Yankees
RS: Favorite MLB player of all-time?
EF: Willie Mays
RS: What is your dream job?
EF: Sports agent
RS: Any pregame superstitions?
EF: Never got into any sort of superstitions.
RS: One thing most people don't know about you?
EF: I'm an only child
RS: Biggest accomplishment?
EF: Signing my National Letter of Intent to Richmond.
RS: Best piece of advice you've been given by a coach?
EF: Always have confidence in yourself. If you don't believe you can do it, you won't.
RS: Best memory from playing little league?
EF: Playing in Cooperstown and going on a huge run, which led us to being top-16 in the tournament.
