Richmond Demolishes Duquesne On The Road, 75-58

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Four of the seven Spiders who played scored in double-figures as the Richmond men's basketball team led by 23 in a 75-58 victory over Duquesne Wednesday night.
Junior Kendall Anthony led the Spiders (16-8, 6-3 Atlantic 10) with 20 points, his third-straight 20-point game. Anthony moved into 28th on Richmond's scoring list with 1,181 points. His four three-pointers giving him 191 for his career, which ranks sixth at Richmond.
Freshman ShawnDre' Jones matched his career high of 13 points for the second-straight game and junior Terry Allen just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Sophomore Alonzo Nelson-Ododa scored 10 points and blocked four shots.
Playing its second game after losing its two seniors for the season, the Spiders jumped out to a 17-3 lead and led by 12 at the half.
"That was probably our best offensive half of the season," Richmond head coach Chris Mooney siad. "We were making shots and really moving the ball well."
Richmond pushed that lead to 23 (61-38) with 8:28 remaining. The Spiders held a Duquesne (10-13, 2-8 A10) team averaging 74 points per game to 58. It was the 13th time in the last 18 games that the Spiders have held the opposition under 64 points.
The Spiders return home for a three-game homestand that opens Saturday when Richmond hosts Fordham.
