Salas Named A-10 Performer of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Sophomore Katya Salas of the Richmond women's tennis team was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Salas posted a perfect week, earning two singles and two doubles victories for the Spiders. From the No. 4 position, the sophomore defeated West Virginia's Irinka Toidze 6-4, 6-3, and Navy's Logan Antill, 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 6-3. Salas and partner Anna Abadias Morales remained undefeated together in No. 2 doubles, earning doubles points against WVU, 6-4 and Navy, 8-4.
This is the first-career weekly award for Salas.
The Spiders will return to the court Saturday, March 1 at Old Dominion at 12 p.m.
