Richmond Baseball Drops A-10 Opener At Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team fell on the road at Dayton in their Atlantic 10 conference opener on Friday, 19-10.
With the loss, Richmond's record drops to 7-11-1 overall and to 0-1 in A-10 play. Dayton improves 6-13 on the year and to 1-0 in league action.
Sophomore Doug Kraeger led the Richmond offense on Friday, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored. Sophomore Matt Dacey went 2-for-3 with his team-leading fourth home run, two RBI and three runs scored.
Junior Ryan Cook had a pair of hits, driving in four on the day, while sophomore Tyler Beckwith hit a solo homer for the Spiders. Junior Eric Flanagan also had a RBI single in the loss.
The Richmond Spiders will continue their three-game, Atlantic 10 series with the Dayton Flyers on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
