Spiders Fall On The Road At Top-Ranked Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team fell to the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers on Wednesday night, 13-0, in Charlottesville, Va.
With the loss, Richmond falls to 15-22-1 on the season overall, while Virginia improves to 35-7 with the victory.
Sophomore OF Jansen Fraser had a double for the Spiders, while classmate Aaron Newman also had a hit for Richmond. In the loss, sophomore Tanner Stanley extended his reached-base streak to 29 games when he drew a walk in the eighth inning.
The Richmond Spiders will be back in action on Friday when the team begins a three-game, Atlantic 10 series with George Washington. First pitch at Pitt Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.
