DURHAM, N.C. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team fell on the road at Duke on Tuesday night, 10-3.

With the loss, Richmond falls to 22-25-1 on the season overall, while Duke improves to 31-21 with the victory.

Sophomore OF Jansen Fraser led the Spider offense on Tuesday, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. 3B Matt Dacey also had a double and a RBI for Richmond in the loss.

Out of the bullpen, RHP Dan Martinson pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, while LHP Dylan Stoops struck out the side in his inning of work. Freshman RHP Zach Moore worked 1.1 innings, allowing just two hits.

Richmond jumped on the board early, scoring one run in the top of the first inning. After a leadoff double from Fraser, Mike Small reached on an error to put runners on the corners. Two batters later, Dacey notched his team-leading 42nd RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly to center field, giving UR a 1-0 lead.

Trailing the Blue Devils 7-1 in the top of the seventh inning, the Spiders cut in to the Duke lead on a Fraser two-run double to left-center field. With his two doubles on the day, Fraser is second on the team with 11 two-base hits.

The Blue Devils responded, however, scoring three times in the bottom of the frame. Duke would go on to defeat the Spiders, 10-3.

The Richmond Spiders will wrap up the regular season with a three-game, Atlantic 10 series at Rhode Island starting on Thursday. First pitch of the series is scheduled for 3 p.m.

NOTES: Before the game, Duke and Richmond observed a moment of silence in memory of Ginny Doyle and Natalie Lewis, two members of the Richmond women's basketball staff that were in the hot-air balloon accident on Friday … Richmond will be honoring the memory of both Ginny Doyle and Natalie Lewis the rest of the season with decals of their initials on the team's helmets.
