Women's Tennis Finds Success At Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Richmond women's tennis team completed the Wake Forest Invitational on Sunday afternoon after fighting varying degrees of rain all weekend.
The Spiders found success across multiple flights and played well on the doubles court with the duo on Anna Abadias Morales and Emily Gitman returning from injury to play their first matches since April, earning two doubles victories.
Katya Salas found the most success on the singles court. She would pick up a pair of victories before falling in the semifinal of the G Singles Draw in a hard-fought match (3-6, 6-3, 3-6). The Spiders would earn a total of seven singles victories over main and back draws.
The doubles duo of Brittany Boys and Bella Kuse earned one victory on the doubles court, 6-2, in the A Draw before picking up another in the consolation bracket, 6-3. The team of Ana Ramirez and Katya Salas picked up a victory in the B Draw consolation bracket while Kelsey Williams and Gaby Rosales earned one win in the C Draw.
The Spiders will now turn their attention to the Atlantic Region Singles Championships where they will complete the 2015 fall slate before opening up the Spring at home with Longwood on Jan. 24.
