Meet Katya…
Major(s) include minors: Accounting with a LAIS minor.
Career aspirations: To work for one of the Big 4.
Three words to describe yourself: Driven, Positive and Spacey.
Best or most memorable moment as a member of your Spider program: Winning our match against Temple 4-3. There was so much energy and the matches all came down to the last few points. It was so much fun to finally bring down our rival all in close matches.
The best nickname on the team: My best friend on the team refer to ourselves as "Katsey and Keltya" as a joke since we are always together!
Strengths: I always try and bring 100% energy when I am on the courts or in the gym, no matter how tired I am feeling. I also never give up in a match no matter how badly I may be losing.
Toughest opponents: VCU, biggest rival in the A-10!
Working to improve: Everything because nothing can ever be completely perfect.
Best sports memory: Going to the U.S. Open with my dad as a child. It was so exciting being in New York for the first time. On the last day we were lucky enough to get front row tickets to the women's final which Clijsters won. Also, as a kid I was able to get access after the matches to get autographs which was so much fun!
Favorite meal: Sushi.
Favorite ice cream: Anything with chocolate in it!
On your playlist: Limelight by Just a Gent.
Most embarrassing thing on your playlist: Please Be Mine by Jonas Brothers.
If you have one wish: To travel the world.
What most people don't know about you: I have two older sisters. One who lives in Dallas and the other who will soon move to L.A.
If you could go on any game show: Deal or No Deal.
Hidden talent: I can play the piano.
Dream car: Range Rover.
If you could travel anywhere in the world: I really want to go to Asian countries, such as Thailand, because it is so pretty and extremely cheap once you're there.
Pets: I used to have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sady.
Hero: My Parents.
Favorite childhood TV show: Boy Meets World.
If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive: Taylor Swift.
If you could have any superpower: To read minds.
