Spiders Bring The Heat, In The Snow
03/02/2015 | Women's Tennis
Richmond, Va. - The Richmond Spiders women's tennis team took on the Highlanders of Radford University Tuesday at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. After many cold days in a row, the Spiders got to play outside at home, with snow ringing the courts, for the first time this year.
Richmond swept the doubles competition, while Gaby Rosales, Melissa Kandinata, Brittany Boys and Kelsey Williams won singles matches.
"I liked our fight today," said head coach Mark Wesselinnk. "Almost everyone played through some health issues. There were no excuses and it was a good battle with a solid Radford team."
The match scheduled for Tuesday against Norfolk State has been canceled. The next event is against UNC Greensboro, March 6, in Greensboro, N.C.
