Mens Tennis Takes Out Liberty, 4-3

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders men's tennis team defeated the Liberty Flames, 4-3, Wednesday in their first home match since January.
A slow start allowed Liberty to jump out ahead defeating Richmond in two doubles matches to claim the doubles point. But after surrendering the doubles point, Ethan Dunbar turned around to drop Dillon Segur, 6-0, 6-3 from the No. 1 singles slot, while James Aronson won his match, 6-4, 6-1.
Richmond collected the final two singles matches. The Spiders had to take the Flames to three sets in each of the final two draws in order to notch the victory. Jonathan Quenard bested Diego Castano, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to even the match at 3-3 with one singles draw left.
In the final singles position, Jacob Dunbar bested Sam Matheson despite dropping the first set, 6-4. Dunbar secured the match for the Spiders after winning the second and third sets, 6-3, 6-4.
The Spiders improved to 8-6, while the loss dropped Liberty to 8-6.
