03/24/2015 | Women's Tennis
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - In a match that the Spiders certainly wanted to win in order to keep their winning streek alive, the women's tennis team defeated Morgan State, 5-2 at the Westhampton Tennis Complex Tuesday afternoon. The Spiders moved to a record of 9-2 with a season-best sixth consecutive triumph.
"I was impressed by Brittany Boys & Katya Salas stepping up to #1 doubles and winning an important match for us," remarked head coach Mark Wesselink. "The match was delayed an hour and a half due to Morgan State's travel issues and I felt the waiting took some of our energy away. But we rebounded quickly and finished strong."
"The team is getting better with every match. We will need that against Georgetown on Friday. They are hot now too. It should be a battle."
The women's tennis team will host the Georgetown Hoyas Friday March 27 at 2PM.
