Women's Tennis Meets Dayton Friday At A-10 Championships

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The women's tennis team heads back to The Boar's Head Sports Club for this weekend's Atlantic 10 Championship, a site that has been kind to Richmond. The Spiders won their last A-10 Tournament title at the Charlottesville venue in 2012.

This year, Richmond is the number 2 seed and will meet upset-minded Dayton Friday at 1:30pm. The tenth-seeded Flyers surprised #7 Saint Loius, 4-3, in Thursday's first round.

"We have earned the number two seed," said the Spiders' seven-time A-10 Coach of the Year Mark Wesselink. "Now, we are looking forward to proving it."

The Spiders have won nine Atlantic 10 titles (2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). Richmond finished the regular season with an 11-6 record, including an eight-match win streak.
