
Egizi Captures Fourth A-10 Weekly Rookie Honor

Richmond freshman Kim Egizi (Westwood, Massachusetts) collected nine points in the final regular-season weekend for the Spiders and took home her fourth Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week award Monday. The award is selected by the league office.
Egizi led the team in point-scoring for the week as the Spiders split their final two games of the regular season to clinch the second seed at the A-10 Tournament this week. She scored two goals and added an assist Friday at Massachusetts before collecting the game-high total of six points with two more goals and a career-best tying four assists in the Spiders' 19-11 win at La Salle Sunday.
Egizi finished second on the team with 18 assists and 40 points for the season. Egizi led the team this season with a .524 shot percentage and .857 shots on goal percentage. She also put together 20 ground balls, tied for fourth on the team, and eight caused turnovers, tied for sixth.
She and senior Emily Doyle were the two Spiders to take home a weekly award this season.
Richmond will play in the second semifinal fo the Atlantic 10 Championships this weekend in Washington, D.C. The Spiders face three-seed Duquesne Friday at 3:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to the noon Championship game on Sunday.
