Spiders Battle Past Davidson, 4-3

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team picked up its second straight victory over an Atlantic 10 foe on Sunday afternoon, battling to a 4-3 road win at Davidson.
The Spiders used a total team effort to pull out the hard fought victory with six different players picking up wins on either the singles or doubles courts. Junior Alexandre Felisa won in both singles and doubles action to highlight the afternoon.
Richmond rolled on the doubles court with Felisa teaming with classmate Jonathan Quenard to win 6-4 at #2 doubles, along with youngters Caleb Troy and Brice Polender winning, 6-1 at the #3 doubles spot to take the doubles point for the Spiders.
Sophomore James Aronson gave Richmond a 2-0 lead with an easy 6-1, 6-3 victory at the fifth spot in the singles lineup.
Davidson responded with three straight to take a lead, but Felisa battled back to win in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at #4 singles to even the match at 3-3.
Junior Jacob Dunbar secured the win for Richmond, pulling out a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory at the top singles spot over Davidson''s Shamael Chaudhry.
The Spiders return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host city rival, VCU. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
