03/12/2016 | Women's Tennis
ORLANDO, Fla. – It turns out that the University of Richmond women's tennis team is much like a lot of other college students in the fact that they enjoy being in Florida for spring break.
Richmond started the day by dominating the doubles courts with all three pairs winning decisively to grab a 1-0 advantage.
Seniors Emily Gitman, Anna Abadias Morales and Katya Salas led the Spiders on the singles courts, all winning in straight sets.
Freshman Ana Ramirez continued her strong play, winning her sixth match in her past seven outings, taking down ASU's Heidi Swope, 6-3, 6-2.
Richmond now has a break before returning to action on Friday, March 25 when they travel to the nation's capital to take on Atlantic 10 foe George Washington. First serve in Foggy Bottom is set for 12 p.m.
