Diving Team Competes at Tri-Meet with East Carolina and Duke

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Richmond divers were back in action Saturday afternoon in Greenville, N.C. as the Spiders took part of a tri-meet with the East Carolina Pirates and the Duke Blue Devils. The meet featured both the one and three meter diving events, with all five Spiders competing in each event. In total, 13 divers took part in the meet.
Sydney Weiskopf (Clifton Park, N.Y.) led the Spiders in the three-meter event. She recorded a score of 241.65 in her first action of the season. Following Weiskopf was junior Maddy Chao (Niskayuna, N.Y). Chao earned a score of 240.15 to earn a ninth-place finish. Emma Yeakley (Cornelius, N.C.) was next with a 10th place finish with a score of 230.15. Alex Beran (Basking Ridge, N.J.) finished in 11th after totaling a score of 209.45. Natalie Hawley (Stonington, Conn.) completed the scoring, earning a total of 180.25.
The one-meter event saw Weiskopt again score as the top Spider with a score of 240.25. Chao added a 233.60 finis, followed by Beran at 228.55. Yeakley finished with a score of 216.15 and Hawley set a new personal record with a score of 205.70.
The swimming and diving team is back in action November 15-17 as the team will take part in the Patriot Invite, hosted by George Mason.
