Spiders To Honor Kirby, Friendshuh, and Madrid-Andrews Prior To Saturday's Game

Prior to Saturday's game against Saint Joseph's at the Robins Center, the Spiders men's basketball team will honor a trio of players: Joe Kirby, Paul Friendshuh, and Jordan Madrid-Andrews.

Kirby, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has appeared in 24 of a possible 27 games this season, totaling 21 points and 16 rebounds. Wednesday at George Washington, Kirby played 12 minutes, his most since the second game of the season against Jacksonville State on November 13. He will graduate with a degree in Sociology in May.

Friendshuh, who hails from New Prague, Minn., is a four-year member of the Spiders program who will graduate in May with a degree in History. He has appeared in a career-high 20 games this season and hit the first three-pointer of his Richmond career in his last home game against Saint Louis.

Madrid-Andrews, a graduate transfer who holds a marketing degree from Chicago State, has appeared in 11 games this season, scoring against both Wake Forest and Jacksonville State. He is pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources Management through the School of Professional and Continuing Studies.Â

In addition to the three players, senior Joe Mairana, a three-year manager for the Spiders, will be honored during the pre-game ceremony, which start at 5:50 PM.
