Next Level: Nick Sherod Sophomore Highlights

2017-18 will be remembered as the year Nick Sherod emerged as one of the Spiders top scoring threats and one of the most-improved players in the Atlantic 10. For the season, Sherod averaged 14.3 points per game while increasing his scoring average every month. After scoring 9.7 points per game in November he averaged 12.0 in December, 13.2 in January, and 19.2 during February/March. In conference play, Sherod scored a team-high 17.6 points per game, 12th in the A-10, and joined VCU's Justin Tillman as the only players to averaged 17 points per game and shoot 52 percent from the field during the A-10 schedule. Sherod's most impressive individual output came February 3 against George Mason, when he totaled 32 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, becoming the first A-10 player to reach those totals in a game since 2005.
