Baker, Spiders Shut Out VCU 3-0 Sunday for Series Win

RICHMOND, Va. – Behind a complete game shutout from Robbie Baker and Anthony Forte's two-run homer, the Spiders shut out VCU, 3-0. With the win, Richmond picked up its fourth Atlantic 10 series win of the season.
Baker (7-1) was stellar on the hill as he tossed a complete game two-hit shutout. In his second career complete game, Baker struck out six and allowed just one walk.
Forte blasted a two-run homer in the fifth to give Richmond (24-20, 10-8) a 2-0 advantage. The Spiders capitalized on a two-out walk and a VCU (29-19, 12-9) error in the seventh. D.J. Lee laced a double to left and drove in Forte to put Richmond ahead, 3-0.
The Spiders return to action on Tuesday night as they take on No. 6 North Carolina. First pitch in Chapel Hill is slated for 6:00 p.m.
