Purcell and Manning Etch Their Names in Spiders All-Time Top 10

FAIRFAX, Va. – Maggie Purcell (Southampton, N.Y.) and Eliza Manning (Frederick County, Md.) each earned a spot on the Richmond All-Time Top Ten for their performances in the 200 individual medley Thursday evening at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason. The pair turned in times of 2:02.46 and 2:03.64, respectively. Purcell's time ranks fifth all-time, while Manning's is tenth. As a team, the Spiders are currently in sixth place, having tallied 115 points. Florida Atlantic currently leads the invitational with 274 points.
The 200-relay team of Manning, Lauren Medlin (Cary, N.C.), Hannah Gouger (Cockeysville, Md.) and Ellie Ronan (Marblehead, Mass.) earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:36.12. The quartet of Jordan Kohut (Raleigh, N.C.), Mallory Shake (Lexington, Ky.), Rachel Pak (Fairfax, Va.) and Kristine Mihm (Wexford, Pa.) added four points with a time of 1:38.97. The 400-medley relay team of Gouger, Purcell, Claire O'Shaughnessy (Laurel, Md.) and Medlin finished fourth at 3:47.41, good for the team's season-best time.
Medlin earned individual points in the 50-yard freestyle, tallying four with a 24.01 time, .02 off her season best.
Emma Yeakley (Cornelius, N.C.) tallied 11 points in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 225.95. Ava Tuggle (Archdale, N.C.) was earned nine points with a ninth-place finish with a 218.20 score and senior Sydney Weiskopf (Clifton Park, N.Y.) earned a 12th place finish with a score of 210.05, good for five points.
The Spiders return to the pool tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. for the second day of the three-day Invitational at George Mason.
