Spiders In Fourth Through 36 Holes at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Richmond Spiders women's golf team is tied for fourth at the Bucknell Invitational after registering scores of 300 (+20) and 306 (+26) in rounds one and two on Saturday. Two freshmen and two sophomore contributed scores for the youthful Spiders, who will enter Sunday's final round tied with Lehigh in fourth place, 12 strokes behind leaders Navy.
Freshmen Vicky Zhu (148) is tied for eighth in the field of 61 at eight-over par after back-to-back rounds of 74 on the par-70 layout at Bucknell Golf Club. "I'm very proud of Vicky for her play today," said Richmond coach Calle Nielson. "This golf course really sets up well for her."
Sophomores Emily Ward and Naomi Mitchell are both tied for 17th at 12-over par (152) and freshman Muskan Uppal is tied for 26th at 14-over par (154).
Junior Lizzy Reedy, competing as an individual, is tied for 11th at 10-over par after shooting 77-73 on Saturday.
The tournament's third and final round will get underway Sunday at 9:00 AM with a shotgun start. It will be the Spiders final time playing the Bucknell course before the 2020 Patriot League Championship, which will be held on April 19-20, 2020.
"Tomorrow we want to keep learning about the course," said Nielson. "We're going to play for a conference title on this course and I think we have learned something new every time we have played it."
