Spiders Travel To St. Bonaventure For A-10 Rematch

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's basketball team will face St. Bonaventure for the second time this season on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. in Olean, N.Y.
LAST TIME OUT
Richmond improved to 13-14 overall and 6-7 in the Atlantic 10 after a tough 75-70 road win at George Mason. The Spiders earned their sixth road win of the season after getting a key defensive stop at the end of the game.
Sophomore Claire Holt scored a career-high 24 points, including 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Holt went 8-for-8 in the final two minutes of the game. Senior Jaide Hinds-Clarke tied her career-high with 21 points and set a new personal best against A-10 foes. Hinds-Clarke was 9-for-10 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds.
The Spiders led wire-to-wire with the game being tied once and held a 15-point lead in the third quarter. George Mason cut the lead to one point multiple times in the fourth quarter but Richmond never gave the lead up. Richmond was fantastic at the free throw line shooting 78.3 percent (18-for-23).
A-10 STANDINGS UPDATE - 3 GAMES REMAINING
The Richmond Spiders (6-7) are currently tied for seventh in the Atlantic 10 standings with three games remaining. Richmond owns head-to-head tiebreakers against #5 Davidson (7-6), #6 Duquesne (7-6), #10 La Salle (5-8), #12 St. Bonaventure (4-9) and #14 George Mason (2-11). The Spiders are hoping to finish as one of the top eight seeds to host the first round of the A-10 Championship on Tuesday, March 3.

St. Bonaventure is 7-18 overall and is 4-8 in Atlantic 10 games. The Bonnies are 2-2 in their last four games with wins against George Washington (W, 59-55) and Davidson (W, 68-56). St. Bonaventure is 4-2 at home during A-10 play, including three-straight home wins. Asianae Johnson leads the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game and Dajah Logan is second at 9.6 points per game. Logan leads the team with 41 three-pointers.
HOLT CONTINUES TORRID MONTH
Sophomore Claire Holt has been on a tear lately scoring 10 points or more in nine-straight games. Holt leads the team in scoring in Atlantic 10 play at 14.2 points per game in 13 games. Holt has shot 79.6 percent from the free throw line (43-for-54). The streak started with 10 points against La Salle and has continued against Davidson (14 points), at UMass (13 points), vs. St. Bonaventure (15 points), 16 points vs. VCU, 20 points at La Salle, 11 points vs. Duquesne, 10 points vs. Fordham and a career-high 24 points at George Mason. Holt is averaging 16.0 points per game in February and Richmond is 4-2 in the month.
HISTORY AGAINST ST. BONAVENTURE
This will be will be 24th meeting all-time between the two teams with Richmond holding a 15-8 record, including four-straight wins in the series. The Spiders opened the month of February with a 63-59 overtime win against St. Bonaventure at the Robins Center. Jaide Hinds-Clarke scored the game-winning layup with 11 seconds left in overtime. Hinds-Clarke finished with 13 points and Claire Holt added 15 points. In the last meeting in Olean, Richmond led wire-to-wire and won 79-57 on Feb. 14, 2018.
