Richmond Entertains Saint Louis On Senior Night

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's basketball team will welcome Saint Louis for Senior Night on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Robins Center. The Spiders are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
SENIOR NIGHT - DUGGAN, ERVIN, HINDS-CLARKE, WISEMAN
The Richmond Spiders will honor its four seniors Amy Duggan (Norwood, Mass.), Jayana Ervin (Tacoma, Wash.), Jaide Hinds-Clarke (Westwood, N.J.) and Ragan Wiseman (Floyd, Va.) on Wednesday night against Saint Louis before the game. All four have made contributions to the program and have helped the Spiders this season improve to 14 wins.
A-10 STANDINGS UPDATE – 2 GAMES REMAINING
The Richmond Spiders (7-7) are currently tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10 standings with two games remaining. Richmond owns head-to-head tiebreakers against #7 Davidson (7-7), #8 Duquesne (7-7), #10 La Salle (6-8), #12 St. Bonaventure (4-10) and #13 George Mason (3-11). The Spiders are hoping to finish as one of the top eight seeds to host the first round of the A-10 Championship on Tuesday, March 3.

HINDS-CLARKE NAMED A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior Jaide Hinds-Clarke was named the A-10 Player of the Week for the first time in her career and first Spider since Genevieve Okoro on Feb. 24, 2014. Hinds-Clarke had an outstanding week averaging 21.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in two road wins. Hinds-Clarke only missed five total shots (17-for-22) in two games and scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds at St. Bonaventure.
ABOUT SAINT LOUIS
Saint Louis is 16-11 overall and 8-6 in A-10 play. The Billikens are 2-2 in their last four games with wins against UMass (71-56) and Fordham (59-49). Saint Louis is 3-4 in road A-10 games and has lost the last two at Rhode Island (L, 72-63) and at VCU (L, 67-60). Ciaja Harbison leads the team in scoring at 15.6 points per game. Kendra Wilken is second in scoring at 11.1 points per game. The Billikens are averaging 40.4 rebounds per game.
HOLT CONTINUES TORRID MONTH
Sophomore Claire Holt has been on a tear lately scoring 10 points or more in 10-straight games. Holt leads the team in scoring in Atlantic 10 play at 14.2 points per game in 14 games. Holt has shot 79.3 percent from the free throw line (46-for-58). The streak started with 10 points against La Salle and has continued against Davidson (14 points), at UMass (13 points), vs. St. Bonaventure (15 points), 16 points vs. VCU, 20 points at La Salle, 11 points vs. Duquesne, 10 points vs. Fordham, a career-high 24 points at George Mason and 14 points at St. Bonaventure. Holt is averaging 16.0 points per game in February and Richmond is 5-2 in the month.
HISTORY AGAINST SAINT LOUIS
This will be will be 17th meeting all-time between the two teams. Saint Louis leads the all-time series with a 9-7 record, including five-straight wins and two wins last season. In the previous meeting, Richmond made a late comeback but fell 58-49 in the Atlantic 10 Championship first round at Chaifetz Arena. Claire Holt led the team with 13 points. Brooke Flowers had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds for Saint Louis. Richmond's last win came at the Robins Center on Feb. 7, 2015 in a 75-72 win.
