Meet the 2021 Spiders - Pitchers

RICHMOND, Va. – One of the most important aspects of baseball, is pitching. The Spiders bring in 12 new pitchers to this year's staff. Returning for the Spiders include all four starting pitchers, as well as the two most frequently used relievers from 2020.

Dane Armson (Montoursville, Pa.)
- Three-year varsity letterwinner at Loyalsock Township
- Earned All-Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference honors
- Led his team to a PIAA District 4 AAA runner-up finish in 2018
Antonio Balducci (Mechanicsville, Va.)
- One of the most durable relievers in the bullpen, leading the team in appearances each of the last three seasons
- Team captain for the 2021 season
- Threw 11.2 innings with a 2.31 ERA in 2020
- Struck out a career-high five in relief against Georgetown
Jack Buckley (Bronx, N.Y.)
- Graduate transfer from Franklin and Marshall
- Missed 2020 due to injury and will miss 2021 after cancer diagnosis
- Career 13-7 record with three complete games
Harrison Clifton (Henrico, Va.)
- Earned five varsity letters at Steward High
- Four-time All-State honoree
- Two-time team captain
Nolan Collins (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.)
- Graduate transfer from Bates College where he was a team captain
- Started three games, earning a 1-1 record in 14 innings in 2020
- 2019 First Team All-NESCAC, leading the league in strikeouts (64)
- Earned a 3.10 ERA in 66.2 innings in 2018, finishing with a 7-2 record
Jack Corkery (Tega Cay, S.C.)
- Graduate transfer from Swarthmore College
- Swarthmore's all-time leader in saves
- Earned a 2.01 ERA in 31.1 innings in 2018, recording the lowest single-season ERA at Swarthmore since 1978
Vincent Corso (West Harrison, N.Y.)
- Earned three varsity letters at Harrison High
- 2019 All-League and All-Section
- 2019 Section One Pitcher of the Year Class A and AA
Jarrad DeLarso (Marlton, N.J.)
- Appeared in a team-high nine games in 2020
- Finished the season 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA
- Worked 11.1 innings with 11 strikeouts last year
Sage Dobbs (Gaithersburg, Md.)
- Three-year letter winner at Georgetown Prep
- Named team captain as a senior
- Two-time Interscholastic Athletic Conference Champion
Matthew Haines (Mechanicsville, Va.)
- Redshirted as part of the Richmond baseball program last year
- Four-time letterwinner at Maggie L. Walker Governor's school
- Two-time team captain
Cole Hentschel (Pine Bush, N.Y.)
- Will miss 2021 due to injury
- Two-year varsity letterwinner at Pine Bush high
- Struck out 32 hitters in 19 innings as a junior
Eli Kimbell (New York, N.Y.)
- Graduate transfer from Princeton
- Missed 2020 with injury and appeared in just two games in 2019
- Threw in 11 games in 2018, earning two wins and two saves
- Made 14 appearances out of the bullpen as a freshman, striking out 21 hitters
Dallas Lind (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
- Did not appear in a game during the 2020 season
- Earned four varisty letters at Millenium High
- Led his division by averaging 2.02 hitters per inning at Millennium
Collin Lowe (Ridgefield, Conn.)
- Threw a team-best 23.0 innings as a weekend starter in 2020
- Richmond's most dominant starter in 2020, throwing 6.0 innings or more in three of four starts
- Struck out a career-best seven against Ball State in his final outing
Mason Majors (Kansas City, Mo.)
- Seven career appearances, six coming in 2020
- Worked 5.0 innings with five strikeouts in 2020
- Struck out at least one hitter in his final three appearances last year
Jacob Marcus (Malvern, Pa.)
- Started in the weekend rotation last season
- Struck out a team-high 23 hitters in 20.0 innings in 2020
- Worked into the weekend rotation as a freshman and ranked 128th nationally in Ks per nine innings
- Earned his first collegiate win after throwing a complete game against Norfolk State in 2019
Alden Mathes (Broomall, Pa.)
- Made three appearances on the hill as a freshman
- Struck out 11 hitters in 6.0 innings and earned a save
- Made his collegiate debut on the hill against No. 4 Georgia in Athens, striking out four in 3.1 innings
- Earned the save after throwing 1.2 innings, striking out four against Lehigh
Tim Miller (Wayne, Pa.)
- Three-time Richmond baseball team captain
- Three-time opening day starter
- Earned a 2-0 record in 20.2 innings in 2020
- Started 34 games in his career with one complete game
Kent Morrison (Herndon, Va.)
- Did not appear in a game in 2020
- Made five starts and appeared in 11 games in 2019
- Earned a 5.90 ERA in 29.0 innings
- Recorded a win and two saves, striking out 20 hitters in 2019
Jeremy Neff (West Palm Beach, Fla.)
- Worked as the midweek starter in 2020
- Threw 17.0 innings in his four starts as a freshman
- Struck out 16 hitters in 2020
Matthew Plisko (Alpharetta, Ga.)
- Graduate transfer from Macalester College (MN)
- Earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors
- Started 10 games, finishing 8-2 in 2018
- Career 3.01 ERA and 15-5
Jordan Schulefand (Parkland, Fla.)
- Made three appearances out of the bullpen last year
- Logged 3.1 innings with six strikeouts and earned a save
- Did not pitch during his sophomore season

Sammy Senders (Potomac, Md.)
- Appeared in six games as a sophomore, making one start in 2020
