Women’s Track Heads to GMU Winter Fiesta

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team will be heading to Fairfax, Va., for the George Mason Winter Fiesta, Saturday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Feb. 28 at the GMU Field House.
The Spiders will send 13 student-athletes to compete in the final indoor meet on the 2021 schedule.
Richmond will have two 4x400 meter relay teams in action this weekend. The Red relay team will have Tamar Accius (Jacksonville, Fla.), Gabrielle Beneducci (Hampton, N.J.), Brooke Fazio (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Kayla O'Connell (Marshfield, Mass.) working together. Accius will also race in the 60m and 200m events, while Beneducci will line up for the 200m. Fazio and O'Connell will also compete in the 800m.
Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.), Maddie Orr (Rumson, N.J.), Kamryn Ross (Richmond, Va.) and Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.) will line up for Richmond as the 'blue' 4x400m relay team. Helbling will also race in the 500m, while Ross will compete in the 60m hurdles.
Along with Woods, Morgan Crocker (Richmond, Va.) and Rebekah Greene (Henrico, Va.) will compete in the long jump.
Amaya Jackson (Richmond, Va.), in her 2021 indoor season debut, will check-in for Richmond in the 200m and the long jump.
Zenia Vrakas (Pefka, Thessaloniki, Greece) will make her debut in the 60-meter hurdles while Grace Mittl (Bethlehem, Pa.) will compete in the 60-meter dash and the 200m.
Two men's cross country student-athletes will also compete at the meet. Both Jake Schindel and William Tune will compete in the 800m.
