No. 12 Women’s Lacrosse Stays Unbeaten in A-10 Action

RICHMOND, Va. – No. 12 University of Richmond women's lacrosse team used a 7-1 run over the last 17:55 of the game to come from behind to defeat Davidson, 15-11, Friday evening at Robins Stadium.
With the win, head coach Allison Kwolek collects her 100th career coaching victory in nine seasons at the helm of the Spider Lacrosse program.
Sophomores Lindsey Frank (Gansevoort, N.Y.) and Arden Tierney (Port Washington, N.Y.) paced the Spiders with three goals each. Frank collected her hat trick in the first half and added six draw controls. Tierney also chipped in 11 draw controls, collecting two more than Davidson's team total.
Every senior had at least one point or stat on the day, Becca Curro (Niskayuna, N.Y.) who is medically unable to play, was a leader on the sideline providing crucial energy and motivation.
Redshirt senior Sam Geiersbach (West Babylon, N.J.) scored the game winner with nine minutes left in the game off of a free position shot to give the Spiders a 12-11 lead. Geiersbach also dished out four assists and collected one ground ball.
Senior Mekenzie Montgomery (Hainesport, N.J.) and graduate Madison Ostrick (Medford, N.Y.) both tallied goals, while senior Nicole Concannon (Syosset, N.Y.) added two goals, two assists and one ground ball. Redshirt senior Reagan Williams (Greenland, N.H.) also had an assist in the victory as senior defender Brittney Wright (Moorestown, N.J.) collected a ground ball. Senior Rachel Ziemba (Cazenovia, N.Y.) dished out two assists.
Graduate goalkeeper Megan Gianforte (Brielle, N.J.) collected a season-high six ground balls, one shy off her career-high, and nine saves to pick up the victory.
Freshman Marymargaret Quinn (Alexandria, Va.) tallied a career-high two goals, all in the second half and a ground ball, while sophomore Sophia DiCenso (Foxboro, Mass.) had two goals and two ground balls. Junior Marina Miller (Wexford, Penn.) scored the Spider's first goal of the game.
The Spiders close out the regular season Sunday, hosting George Mason at Robins Stadium. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. on ESPN+.
