Inside Lacrosse Names Wright A-10 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year

Richmond, Va.— University of Richmond graduate defender Brittney Wright has been named Inside Lacrosse's Atlantic 10 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, as announced by the publication Friday.
Wright started all 12 contests in 2021, collecting 18 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers to lead the Spiders' #11 national ranking in scoring defense.
Wright was named to the WLCA Second Team All-South Region in May, earned USA Lacrosse Magazine NCAA Division I Preseason All-America Third Team honors in December and was named an Inside Lacrosse NCAA Division I Preseason All-American Honorable Mention earlier this month.
The Moorestown, N.J. product is joined by UMass attacker Haley Connaughton as an IL A-10 Preseason Player of the Year.
