Men's Basketball to open season with "Raise the Banner Week"

RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond Spiders men's basketball team will start its 2022-23 season with a two-game homestand, taking on VMI on November 7 and Northern Iowa on November 11 as part of "Raise the Banner Week" at the Robins Center. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to both games as part of a "2 for $22" ticket special.Â
On November 11 vs Northern Iowa, the team will stage a special pregame ceremony where players, coaches, and staff will be presented with their 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship rings and the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship and 2022 NCAA Tournament banners will be unveiled in the rafters of the Robins Center. The ceremony, which will include remarks from members of the 2021-22 team and a special commemorative video, will begin at 6:45 PM. The first 2,000 fans to enter the Robins Center will receive a free poster celebrating the 2022 Atlantic 10 champions, courtesy of SouthState Bank.Â
As part of Richmond Athletics' week-long celebration of Veterans Day, all active duty and reserve military personnel and first responders will be admitted for free to both games when they show their ID at the ticket window.
