Richmond Drops 1-0 Decision to La Salle

RICHMOND, Va. – In a defensive battle the University of Richmond field hockey team lost 1-0 in the 58th minute to La Salle in Atlantic 10 Conference action Friday at Crenshaw Field.
Richmond, moving to 5-7 on the season and 2-2 in league play, returns to Crenshaw Field Sunday, hosting No. 25 Duke at 1 p.m. on EPSN+.
Neither squad could gain the upper hand in the first half, as neither team collected a corner in the opening 30 minutes of action. Both teams tallied four shots in the first half. Senior Tess Keppel (Baltimore, Md.) collected her fourth defensive save in the first quarter.
In the third quarter, Richmond collected five corners, including three in a row in the final minute of the period, but were unable to score.
La Salle tallied the game winner in the 58th minute, putting in a scramble in front of the goal.
