Gilyard one of 10 finalists for Senior CLASS Award
02/11/2022 | Men's Basketball
Gilyard, who already owns a Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Communication Studies from Richmond, is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from the University's School of Professional & Continuing Studies. A three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, Gilyard is the NCAA Division I leader in career steals. He also works to promote autism awareness and has been a driving force behind the Richmond men's basketball team's efforts in that area during his time at the school.Â
Fans can vote for Gilyard now through March 21 at the Senior CLASS Award website. The results of the fan voting will be combined with votes from media and Division I head coaches to determine the winner, which will be announced during the 2022 NCAA Men's Final Four.
Gilyard is also in contention for the National Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award. He was one of 15 players named to the award's watch list late last month.Â
