#20 Spiders Pass Wildcats on Senior Day Saturday

Richmond, Va. — The Richmond women's lacrosse team sent its seniors off in fashion Saturday, passing Davidson, 15-11, in a closely contested matchup between two of the Atlantic 10's top programs.
The Spiders (13-3, 7-1) and Wildcats (12-4, 6-2) went back-and-forth all game, but Richmond would come out on top thanks to a season-high five assists from Colleen Quinn and a career-high six goals by Lindsey Frank.
Quinn added two goals as well for a seven-point day, while Frank chipped in two helpers for a career-high total of eight points.
Arden Tierney scored four goals of her own, while Nicole Concannon, Lauren Kingsbury and Marina Miller all added another. Grace Muldoon chipped in a helper.
The Spiders outshot the Wildcats, 44-24, and won 16 draw controls compared the to the visitor's 12. In net Delaney Galvin earned the win seven saves while Davidson's keeper stopped nine.
The first quarter (4-3) saw the Spiders trail by one before halftime saw the tables turn (7-6) and put Richmond on top. From there, UR picked up the pace and outscored the Wildcats, 8-5, in the second half to go 9-0 at Robins Stadium in 2022.
The Richmond defensive unit was on lock all game, shutting down the Atlantic 10's second-leading scorer, Gianna New, who entered the game with 3.19 goals per game and 5.94 shots per game. Thanks to UR's veteran talent on the back line, New did not record a shot all game.
Before the game, Spider seniors Marina Miller, Delaney Galvin, Brittney Wright, Lauren Kingsbury, Nicole Concannon, Jillian Becker, Caroline Atkinson and Evelyn Roberts were all recognized for their dedication and contribution to the Richmond women's lacrosse program, with all eight getting the start.
Up next, the Spiders close out the regular season on Saturday, April 23 when it plays on the road at George Mason, Opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
