#19/20 Spiders Power Past George Mason Saturday

Fairfax, Va.— The Richmond women's lacrosse team put together a complete team effort to take down George Mason, 21-9, in Fairfax Saturday.
With the win, the Spiders close out its regular season with a 14-3 record—its best since the 2019 season that saw the team win three-straight Atlantic 10 tournament games and advance all the way to the NCAA tournament.
The Spiders were powered by 11 different scorers and a lockdown defense that allowed just two goals in the second half.
Arden Tierney and Lindsey Frank led the team with seven points each, scoring four goals and chipping in three helpers. Sophia DiCenso added another three goals and two assists, while Marina Miller and Evelyn Roberts each scored two and added an assist.
Leah Kenny, Maggie Jordan, Nicole Concannon, Hannah Custer, Marymargaret Quinn and Grace Muldoon (one assist) all found their names in the score column with a goal as well.
On the defensive front, Delaney Galvin earned the win with 11 saves and a .550 save percentage, while Muldoon and DiCenso added a team-high two caused turnovers each.
Mason took Richmond to an 11-7 halftime score, but the last 30 minutes of play were all UR's as the team held Mason to just 10 shots.
Next up, the Spiders head to UMass for the Atlantic 10 tournament where it'll be the No. 2 seed, earning the first-round bye to face off against the winner of No. 3 Saint Joseph's and No. 6 George Washington. Opening draw is set for 2 p.m.
