Spiders Continue Win Streak with win over Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Behind two doubles wins and a dominating showing in singles action, the University of Richmond Women's Tennis team picked up a key 5-1 Atlantic 10 victory over Davidson on Saturday. With the win, the Spiders improved to 6-14 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
In doubles, duo Polina Shitikova and Andrea Campodonico defeated Porges/Patel, 6-1, on court one while Claire Le Du and Marta Buendia clinched the doubles point for the Spiders with a 6-3 win on court two.
In singles, Leonor Oliveira defeated Heiderscheit, 6-4, 6-4 on court one while Carly Cohen handled business on court two, defeating Schaffer 6-1, 6-4. On court three, Campodonico defeated Porges 6-1, 6-3 and Shitikova clinched the final singles point for Richmond, defeating Shea, 6-3, 6-3 on court six.
The Spiders will be back in action on Sunday, taking on William & Mary at 2 p.m.
