Spiders Season Ends in Atlantic 10 Tournament

RICHMOND, Va. – The 2023 season for Richmond Baseball came to an end Thursday, when the squad fell 4-0 to Saint Joseph's in the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament at The Diamond.
In a pitcher's duel, Richmond (27-28) starter Brock Weirather scattered six hits over seven, three walks and one hit batter over a third of an inning of work. Saint Joseph's got to him for four runs, three in fourth and one in the sixth.
Cole Hentchel tossed one and two thirds of an inning, allowing one walk, in relief.
The Spiders were held to just three hits. Johnny Hipsman picked up his lone hit and stolen base in the first. Zack Lass paced the Spiders with two hits, including a double in the second and in the seventh. Lass also reached via hit by pitch in the fifth.
Christian Beal, Jared Sprague-Lott and Jason Neff all reached via walks but were stranded.
