Spiders Set to Face Marquette in First Round of NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament

Richmond, Va. - The University of Richmond Women's Lacrosse team is set to take on Marquette in the first round of the NCAA tournament, announced Sunday evening. The Spiders will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take on the Golden Eagles on the campus of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Game day is scheduled for Friday, May 12 at 5:00 p.m..
The Spiders are coming off of a 20-13 win against UMass, claiming the Atlantic 10 title and an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. They will enter this matchup with an overall record of 16-3.Â
Marquette heads into the tournament after dropping out of the BIG EAST conference tournament early with a first round loss to No. 24 UConn (17-16). Their overall record on the season sits at 15-3 .Â
This will be a first time matchup between the programs.Â
