RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond field hockey team shut out La Salle University, 4-0, Friday evening at Crenshaw Field to stay unbeaten in Atlantic 10 Conference action and extend their win streak to five games.
With the victory, UR moves to 8-2 on the year and 3-0 in league play for the first time since the 2014 season. Richmond heads on the road to take on James Madison for a 2 p.m. contest on ESPN+ from Harrisonburg.

Freshman Margaret Scheurer collected her first collegiate goal in the 21st minute to push the Spiders lead to 2-0 when she put in a rebound off the La Salle goalkeepers leg pads.
The Spider defense held the Explorers from taking a shot in the first half, while putting up nine of their own. UR also collected five corners in the first half.
La Salle turned up the pressure in the second half, firing off seven shots total and picking up six of their seven corners in the third quarter. Richmond goalkeeper Kristen Rake finished the day with three saves as she guided the lockdown Spider defense.
