Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond track and field program will return to action this weekend as the team splits in separate travel groups for the Darius Dixon Invitational hosted by Liberty and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University. Both competitions will span from Feb. 9-10.
The Darius Dixon Invitational will open at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Follow live results for the Darius Dixon Invitational here.
Competition at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational will open at 9:00 a.m. on both days. Follow live results for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational here.
Last week, Alicia Dawson and Elizabeth Stockman led the Richmond track and field program once again through competition this weekend at the Scarlet Knight Open in New York City hosted by Rutgers. Both Spiders broke Richmond program records in their respective events. Alicia Dawson has been on an impressive hot streak since joining the Spiders in the Fall of 2023. The reigning Atlantic 10 Field Performer of the Week shattered the program record in the long jump (previously set by Kayla Woods in 2022 – 6.09m) with a measurement of 6.12m. This mark earned her the 1st place finish in the event. Dawson's new personal best stands as No. 1 in the Atlantic 10, No. 5 in the ECAC and No. 51 in the NCAA. Dawson found success in the triple jump as well, taking the 2nd place finish with a jump of 12.27m. Elizabeth Stockman, this week's Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week has been a key piece for this successful Richmond squad through the season. At the Scarlet Knight Open Stockman was the next Spider to climb atop a program record, taking the 1st place finish in the 3000m with a new personal best of 9:26.32 (previously set by Madison Trippett in 2023 – 9:29.08).
