Spiders Bounce Back with Convincing Victory Over La Salle

Philadelphia, Pa. – Grace Muldoon and Ali Susskind led the University of Richmond women's lacrosse program to a 17-5 road victory over the conference foe of La Salle on Saturday. Muldoon and Susskind combined for nine goals, setting the offensive tempo in favor of the Spiders in this one. The large-margined win extends Richmond's overall record to 10-3 as the team remains undefeated in the Atlantic 10 conference at 6-0.
Head Coach, Anne Harrington and her Spiders have been meticulously working on winning each quarter through each game. The team followed through with that against the Explorers, outscoring the opponent in each period. First quarter play opened slow for both squads as Richmond ended the opening fifteen minutes ahead 3-2. Richmond completely dominated quarters two and three, scoring six goals in each period, entering the fourth quarter with a 15-4 lead. With many new faces entering the game, Richmond still took control of quarter four, scoring two goals to La Salle's one. The Spiders wrapped this one up with a 17-5 win and are thrilled to remain on top of the Atlantic 10 standings.
Grace Muldoon ended her day as the top Richmond points scorer with 6 points coming from 4 goals and 2 assists, shooting .800 from shots on goal. Muldoon found success on the defensive end of the field as well collecting 3 draw controls, scooping 2 ground balls and forcing 2 caused turnovers. Muldoon has extended her impressive week even further after contributing with 5 points from 4 goals and 1 assist against JMU on Wednesday. Her weekly tally sits at 8 goals, 3 assists, 3 caused turnovers, 3 ground balls and 4 draw controls.
Ali Susskind shot for a game high of 5 goals against the Explorers, shooting .500. She stands as the No. 2 goals leader for the Spiders now with 32 on the season.
Colleen Quinn contributed in this one with 5 points from 3 goals and 2 assists, shooting .600 from shots on goal and .500 overall. She was able to force 1 caused turnover and collect 1 draw control through defensive efforts.
