Spiders Knock Out Davidson in Semi-Finals, Advancing to Second Consecutive Atlantic 10 Title Game

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The No. 2 ranked University of Richmond women's lacrosse program took down the No. 3 seeded Wildcats of Davidson in the Atlantic 10 Championship semi-finals 16-5, advancing to its second consecutive conference championship title game.
Richmond opened first quarter action with a hot start, ending the period with a 5-1 lead on Davidson. The second quarter proved to be just as successful with the Spiders scoring four goals compared to the Wildcats' two, setting the Richmond lead to 9-3 at the half. Third quarter play remained even between the programs as both found the back of the net once as the score moved to 10-4 with the final fifteen minutes approaching. A few young Spiders joined the action to end the game, yet the scoring didn't stop. Richmond outpaced Davidson 6-1 in quarter four, securing the Spider win with a 16-5 final. The programs record extends to 12-5 with the win. Twelve different Spiders found scores on Friday.
Charlotte Edwards led the Richmond offensive unit with 4 points on the day. She posted a career high 3 goals and contributed with 1 assist. Edwards was greatly efficient, shooting 100% against the Wildcats. She went 1-1 from the free position and aided on the defensive end of the field with 1 ground ball.
Grace Muldoon, the 2024 Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year defended her recognition with a complete day on both sides of the ball. Muldoon found success on offense as she contributed 3 points from 2 assists and 1 goal. On defense she posted 6 draw controls, 4 caused turnovers and 3 ground balls.
Colleen Quinn and Ali Susskind each found the back of the net twice. Quinn totaled 3 points coming from her 2 goals and adding an assist. Quinn went 1-1 from the free position. Susskind shot for 100% on the day, scoring 2 goals.

The No. 2 Spiders will advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship finals on Sunday, May 5 as they will recreate the 2023 title game, facing the No. 1 ranked Minutewomen of UMass at Noon.
