Spider Baseball Picked to Lead League in 2025 Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, Va. – Coming off a second-place finish in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Tournament, the University of Richmond baseball program has been picked to finish atop the league, along with VCU, in 2025. The Spiders received 125 points and one first-place vote in the annual league-wide coaches preseason poll, the conference announced Wednesday.
The Spiders and crosstown rival VCU tied with 125 points, while the Rams collected four first-place votes to the Spiders one. Saint Louis landed in third one point off with five first-place votes, while George Washington (104 points) and Davidson (80 points) both collected one first-place vote to land in fourth and fifth, respectively. Dayton (75 points), Rhode Island (71) and Saint Joseph's (66) land in sixth, seventh and eighth. George Mason (58), Massachusetts (44), Fordham (35) and St. Bonaventure (29) round out the league.
Richmond, after putting together a 27-32 record including 13-11 in conference action in Head Coach Mik Aoki's first season, opens the 2025 season at Pitt Field Friday, February 14 hosting Navy for a weekend series. In home league action, the Spiders will host St. Bonaventure (Mar. 14-16), Fordham (Mar. 28-30), Massachusetts (Apr. 11-13), Saint Louis (Apr. 25-27) and Davidson (May 15-17). Richmond's road A-10 weekends include stops at Saint Joseph's (Mar. 21-23), Rhode Island (Apr. 4-6), George Washington, (Apr. 18-20), Dayton (May 2-4), and VCU (May 9-11).
