TOWSON, Md. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team secured a 7-0 sweep over Towson Sunday evening at Coppermine Bare Hills. With the win, Richmond improved to 2-1 on the season, while Towson fell to 1-1.

How it Happened
Richmond swept the doubles matches to claim the opening point. Spider duo Lara Bakhaya and Andrea Campodonico earned a 6-3 victory over Tambe/Boshoff (Towson) on court one while Sofia Barbulescu and Elizabeth Novak battled to a 7-6 (6-0) win against Murray/Pountney (Towson) on court two. Claire Le Du and Lainey O'Neil closed out the sweep with a commanding 6-1 win over Carper/Courtnage (Towson) on court three.

Richmond swept singles action with six-straight wins. Barbulescu set the tone with a 6-1, 7- victory over Tambe (Towson), sealing the win with a tiebreak finish in the second set. Campodonico followed suit on court two, defeating Pountney (Towson) 6-3, 7-5. Abby Lee showcased her dominance on court three against Carper (Towson) 6-3, 6-0. Novak continued the scoring for Richmond on court four with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Murray (Towson). On court five, Le Du picked up a 6-2, 6-2 against Rothfeld (Towson) while O'Neil sealed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Boshoff (Towson) on court six.
