Wilson Named A-10 Baseball Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond Baseball's Evan Wilson has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. This is Wilson's first weekly honor and the program's second weekly honor of the 2026 season.
In the Spiders four games, Wilson hit .538 with an on-base percentage of .647 and slugged .923. He went 7-for-13 at the plate with two doubles and a home run, two RBI, three walks and didn't strikeout. He also played left field, first base and right field as well as served as the designated hitter from the lead off spot in the lineup and did not commit a defensive error.
On the season, Wilson is hitting .385 over 16 games played including 12 starts. He has 15 hits, including four doubles and two home runs for seven RBI. He's drawn seven walks. been hit eight times and is 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
Wilson and the Spiders, 12-12 on the season and 1-5 in conference action, return to Pitt Field Wednesday to host Old Dominion in the first of three match ups this season. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
