PHILADELPHIA – The Richmond field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to Saint Joseph's in Atlantic 10 Conference action at Ellen Ryan Field Friday, Sept. 25. The loss moves Richmond to 6-3 on the season and 1-1 in league play.

UR returns to Crenshaw Field to host La Salle, Friday, Oct. 2 at 5 PM on ESPN+ and internationally on Atlantic10.com. Sunday, Oct. 4, Richmond will host No. 14 Liberty at noon, also on ESPN+ and Atlantic10.com.

The squads tallied a scoreless first quarter, as Richmond's goalkeeper Amanda Cimillo tallied three saves. Saint Joseph's got on the board first in the 24^th minute on a shot off a save by Cimillo that wasn't cleared. Cimillo had five of her seven saves in the first half.

Abril Peroni scored the equalizer in the 32^nd minute of action off a pass flipped up field and into the circle by Leah Horwitz. For her seventh goal of her rookie season, Peroni zipped the ball right between the Hawks goalkeeper's feet and into the back of the goal. Horwitz has three assists on the season.

Saint Joseph's regained the lead in the 38^th minute and added an insurance goal in the 55^th minute of action, both on well-executed penalty corner plays.

Richmond earned two penalty corners late but were unable to find the back of the net.
