Richmond Names Bradley Head Field Hockey Coach

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After a nationwide search, the University of Richmond today announced the hiring of Andrea Bradley as the head field hockey coach. Bradley, the top assistant coach at the University of Maryland the past four seasons, will take over a Spiders program that went 7-13 in 2000.
During Bradley's four-year tenure at Maryland, the Terrapins won the 1999 national championship, back-to-back ACC championships in 1998 and 1999 and established a .837 (77-15) winning percentage.
Prior to Maryland, Bradley was an assistant coach coach at Iowa from 1995 to 1996. During her time there, the Hawkeyes won two regular season Big Ten championships and earned a NCAA tournament berth both seasons. Before Iowa, Bradley was the head coach at Goucher College in Towson, Md., from 1991-94. She was named the NCAA Division III South Region Coach of the Year in 1992 and led the Gophers to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1994.
Bradley has served as an assistant coach for the U.S Under-16 team and has been an instructor for the United State Field Hockey Association (USFHA) Level one coaching certification.
A 1988 University of Delaware graduate with a degree in physical education, Bradley was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey and lacrosse. She earned her master's in exercise physiology from Northern Illinois in 1991.
