Field Hockey Games Cancelled Through Sunday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
In light of President George W. Bush's declaration of a national day of mourning and a weekend of reflection, the University of Richmond Department of Athletics has cancelled all athletic events, home and away, through September 16, 2001. This includes home field hockey contests Friday versus Georgetown and Sunday against William & Mary.
Any rescheduling of events will be announced at a later date. The athletic department expects to resume its normal schedule Monday, September 17.
Coach Ange Bradley's 5-0 field hockey team, off to its best start in school history, is scheduled to resume play with a 7pm game at Virginia Wednesday, September 19. The next scheduled home game is Sunday September 23 against Duke at 2pm.
