UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Spider Field Hockey's junior Holly Cram and freshman Erin Arthur picked up weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 Conference, officials announced Monday. Cram, who leads the Spiders with 13 goals in 2004, was selected as the conference's Player of the Week and Arthur was named Co-Rookie of the Week.
Cram was responsible for three goals and three assists in the Spiders' two Atlantic 10 wins over the weekend. She netted the game-winner and provided two assists in a 4-0 shutout at Temple Saturday afternoon. A day later, the Glasgow, Scotland, native scored two goals, one of which was the game-winner, and assisted on another to help Richmond defeat Saint Joseph's, 5-1.
Arthur recorded the first goal and assist of her career in Richmond's matches over the weekend. The Madison, N.J., native, assisted senior Laura Hur on the Spiders' third goal against the Owls, Saturday. She then scored the team's fourth goal against Saint Joseph's Sunday afternoon.
The Spiders, who extended a conference regular season win streak to 15 with the two weekend wins, return to Crenshaw Field Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Richmond will take on West Chester Saturday, Oct. 16, at noon, then wrap up the weekend with a game against La Salle at noon, Sunday, Oct. 17.
